Man arrested for theft of alcohol -- teice

On January 6th, 2020, an adult male was observed shoplifting a bottle of alcohol from a store located near the intersection of Wellington Street West and Gordon Street in the City of Guelph. The male then left the store before he could be stopped. The bottle had a value of $27.20.

On January 12th, 2020, the same male was again observed shoplifting an identical bottle of alcohol from the same store. The male again left the store before he could be stopped. Police attended the area but were unable to locate him.

On January 13th, 2020, members of the Guelph Police Service were inside an apartment building located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph when they came across the male. He was subsequently arrested.

A 29 year old Guelph male has been charged with two counts of Theft Under $5,000.

He will appear in court on February 25th, 2020.
