North Wellington OPP Report - Nov. 29, 2017

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - On November 25, 2017 approximately 2:30 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted by a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver on County Road 109, Township of Wellington North.

Officers located the driver of a Chevrolet Traverse in a Tim Hortons parking lot. While speaking with the driver officers believed him to be under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for further testing.

48-year-old Armindo MEDEIROS of Brampton, has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to attend Guelph Court on December 22, 2017.
