HANG GLIDER ACCIDENT RESULTS IN MINOR INJURIES TO MALE

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - On September 24, 2017 at approximately 4:40 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a male being injured in a hang glider accident on First Line, Town of Minto.

OPP along with Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services responded and found a male injured. Investigation revealed that the male was taking off in a solo flight with his hang glider when the left wing clipped long grass resulting in a crash.

The male was transported by Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

NEIGHBOUR DISPUTE RESULTS IN CHARGES

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - On September 15, 2017 at approximately 11:55 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of dispute between two neighbours on Elizabeth Street, Harriston.

Investigation revealed that the suspect and victim have been involved in an ongoing dispute. In this incident the suspect attended at the residence of the victim and uttered a threat to him through a rear window. The suspect then removed a portion of the window at which point the victim called police.

34-year-old John Werner REED of Harriston has been charged with Utter threats, Mischief and Fail to Comply with Probation. He was arrested and held for bail court.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY IN MOUNT FOREST

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - On September 25, 2017 at approximately 6:20 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of an attempted robbery that had just occurred in Mount Forest.

Investigation revealed that the victim was walking northbound on Fergus Street South between Wellington Street East and Durham Street East in Mount Forest when the suspect came from behind and attempted to grab his backpack which he had slung over his shoulders. The victim was assaulted but managed to run away with their backpack and call police.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately six feet tall with a medium build, in his early-to-mid-20's. He has tanned skin and a five o'clock shadow. He was wearing a dark grey plain hoodie with the hood up and blue jeans. He was last seen on Wellington Street East.

PICKUP TRUCK STOLEN

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - On Monday September 25, 2017 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen Pickup truck from a residence on Tucker Street, Arthur.

The truck is a black 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche Yamaha bearing Ontario licence plate #AT22107. It was stolen sometime between September 22 and September 25, 2017 while parked on Tucker Street near Domville Street.
