MALE CHARGED WITH RACING

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - On May 22, 2017 at approximately 10:30p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Maas Park Drive, Township of Wellington North. The officer observed a male driving a 2008 GMC Sierra travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

23-year-old Stuart MARTIN of Southgate has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on July 19, 2017. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

MISCHIEF TO SCHOOL

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - On May 21, 2017 at approximately 9:25 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint regarding a mischief to St. Mary Catholic School in the town of Mount Forest.

Investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) painted images and words on the outside of the building in black spray paint.

RACING CHARGE

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - On May 26, 2017 at approximately 11:00 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on County Road 6 near Fourth Line in the Town of Minto. The officer observed a female driving a 2014 Honda Civic travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 142 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

18-year-old Sylvanah RAMOS has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on July 5, 2017. Her driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

YOUTH CHARGED WITH MISCHIEF AND ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - On May 22, 2017 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a pellet gun being used to shoot out the window of a van while it was travelling down King St, Town of Palmerston.

Police attended and were advised that a male victim was operating his vehicle driving southbound on King Street when he noticed two parties standing on the west side of the road wearing camouflage clothing.

They were holding what appeared to be a long gun, which was later determined to be a pellet gun. The back window of the victim's Dodge minivan was then shot out. The victim stopped and returned to the location, saw the two parties and called police.

Investigation also revealed that a citizen working outside of her home at that location was hit by a pellet from the pellet gun being fired.

A 12 year-old male from Palmerston was charged with Mischief and Assault with a Weapon. He was released on a Promise to Appear.

The officer observed a male driving a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 132 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

61-year-old Gary MONTGOMERY of Kitchener has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on June 21, 2017. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
