RACING CHARGE
(MINTO TOWNSHIP, ON) - On February 17, 2013 at about 2:13pm, County of Wellington OPP were conducting mobile radar and monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 109 near the 4th Line of Minto Township. Police observed a southbound 2008 Ford pickup truck travelling well above the speed limit. Police clocked the vehicle on radar at 131km/h.

South Bruce resident, Larry Osborne, age 40 has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. His driver's licence has been suspended and vehicle seized for a period of 7 days as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on April 3, 2013 to answer to the charge.

SNOWMOBILE OPERATOR FOUND TO BE UNDER SUSPENSION
(PALMERSTON, ON) - On February 16, 2013 at about 9:52am, County of Wellington OPP officers were performing snowmobile spot checks on York Street near Main Street in Palmerston. As the officers were speaking with the operators of five snowmobiles, one of the snowmobiles left the scene. The identity of the operator was quickly obtained from the group, and police attended a William Street address in Palmerston and spoke to the male operator, who was unlicensed.

31 year old Palmerston resident Timothy Buckley has been charged with Driving while suspended, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on April 03, 2013 to answer to the charges.

County of Wellington OPP would like to remind snowmobile operators that to operate a snowmobile along a highway a person must be 16 yrs. old and possesses a valid driver's license or a motorized snow vehicle operator's license, and to operate a snowmobile upon a trail, the person must have a valid driver's license or reached the full age of twelve years; and possesses a motorized snow vehicle operator's license.

SNOWMOBILES COLLIDE ON TRAIL
(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) - On February 18, 2013 at approximately 12:12pm County of Wellington OPP officers responded to a collision involving two snowmobiles on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trail west of Sailing Club Road in Mapleton Township.

Firefighters from the Mapleton Fire Department and Paramedics from Guelph-Wellington EMS responded to the scene as well.

The two snowmobiles collided on a curve in the trail. A 51 year old Wellesley area female was transported to Listowel hospital and treated for non life threatening injuries.

24 year old Darrell Horst from the Linwood area was charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Motorized Snow Vehicle Act.
